trout fly fishing
Trout fly fishing school

Tackling trout is an all-inclusive package that aims to teach efficient trout fly casting and fly fishing. (including a fly tying evening) and is suitable for beginners and more experienced anglers alike. They will learn how to cast easily and efficiently and how to assess conditions to employ the most likely tactics for success with trout and grayling in most circumstances. The two day trout fishing course will commence on the evening of Friday May 20, at The Kenmore Hotel, Kenmore and continue through Saturday May 21 and Sunday May 22. Situated on the River Tay and adjacent to Loch Tay there will be ample opportunity to put newly acquired skills to the test and in May the trout will hopefully be rising well. The hotel are offering a reduced tariff for course attendees to enjoy a longer stay and non-fishing partners are more than welcome.

What you need to bring

The only real essentials that you will need are suitable outdoor and waterproof clothing. Rods, and reels can be provided free for use during the course sessions. Guests are however encouraged to learn with their own equipment because that instills confidence in what you are using. If you wish to purchase any equipment or clothing there are several excellent fishing tackle shops in the area including Kate Fleming’s at Blairgowrie and Malloch of Perth should you require to purchase anything.
