Tackling trout is an all-inclusive package that aims to teach efficient trout fly casting and fly fishing. (including a fly tying evening) and is suitable for beginners and more experienced anglers alike. They will learn how to cast easily and efficiently and how to assess conditions to employ the most likely tactics for success with trout and grayling in most circumstances. With lots of experience of fly fishing for many fish the instructors are happy to teach and advise on fishing for salt water species, pike, tarpon and others on an individual basis. The school is suitable for groups of 3 to 8 persons and may be situated at any suitable venue of your choice.
My objectives are to provide a top quality fly fishing experience that will help you to enjoy your fishing even more. Subjects covered include safety, choosing and assembling equipment for different methods, fly casting techniques from basics to the most challenging (to suit individuals capabilities and objectives), entomology and fly tying, reading water and trout and grayling fishing techniques for lochs and rivers. This is a rare opportunity to share experience and knowledge with Ally supported by fishery scientist and FFF instructor Dr Andy Gowans who is also an expert on fish and fishing. The full amount of course fees (or balance as appropriate) must be paid 28 days in advance of the school, otherwise the booking will be cancelled. Rods, and reels can be provided free for use during the course sessions. Guests are however encouraged to learn with their own equipment because that instills confidence in what you are using. If you wish to purchase any equipment or clothing there are several excellent fishing tackle shops in the area including Kate Fleming’s at Blairgowrie and Malloch of Perth should you require to purchase anything. |
